Several hospital and health system presidents have recently exited their roles, with some retiring and others transitioning to new roles.
Hospitals reported at least 50 president exits in 2025. In some cases, departing leaders have assumed new dual roles, adding CEO or COO responsibilities to their new titles.
It is not rare for the president title to be paired with COO responsibilities, the latter of which has grown more complex over the past year in response to industrywide changes.
Below are the hospital and health system president exits Becker’s has recently reported.
