Darin Roark, RN, has exited as president and COO of Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, N.H., for personal reasons, and Lindsay Gainer, MSN, RN, has been named interim president and COO, according to internal messages shared with Becker’s.
Mr. Roark’s last day was Oct. 23. He is returning to Florida, where he previously held hospital leadership roles in the Jacksonville area, according to an Oct. 1 message to staff. His departure is not connected to Somerville, Mass.-based Mass General Brigham’s recent layoffs, a system spokesperson told Becker’s.
Mr. Roark joined Wentworth-Douglass in July 2023. During his tenure, the hospital established Mass General Brigham’s first freestanding emergency department and earned Magnet recognition.
Ms. Gainer is president and COO of the Mass General Brigham Medical Group. She previously served as interim president and vice president of operations at Mass General Brigham Integrated Care and Urgent Care.
Mass General Brigham is conducting a search for a permanent president and COO for Wentworth-Douglass.
