New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health appointed Dan DeBarba president of Norwalk (Conn.) Hospital.
He succeeds Peter Cordeau, who is transitioning to an executive leadership role in workforce development within Northwell, according to a July 20 health system news release shared with Becker’s.
Mr. DeBarba most recently served as CFO of Northwell’s Connecticut and Hudson Valley region. He previously served as president of Norwalk Hospital from 2010 to 2014.
In 2014, after helping lead Norwalk Hospital’s affiliation with Western Connecticut Health Network, Mr. DeBarba was appointed president of Danbury Hospital and executive vice president and COO of Western Connecticut Health Network. He later pursued leadership roles outside the health system before returning to Danbury, Conn.-based Nuvance Health, formerly Western Connecticut Health Network, in 2022 as CFO.
“I am both delighted and honored to return to Norwalk Hospital,” Mr. DeBarba said in the release. “Though much has changed since 2014, I look forward to being reacquainted with the hospital’s amazing staff and physicians and advancing its commitment to our community and clinical integration with Northwell Health.”
Northwell is the largest not-for-profit health system in the Northeast, with 28 hospitals, more than 1,000 outpatient facilities and more than 104,000 employees, the release said.
