Kevin Matson, Southern market president at Gainesville-based Northeast Georgia Health System, plans to exit the organization.
Mr. Matson joined the system more than 25 years ago, he wrote in a June 10 LinkedIn post.
“It’s hard to put into words what this place has meant to me,” he said. “I started my career here in the hospital laundry, never imagining that it would lead to a lifetime of opportunities, friendships, and a deep passion for healthcare leadership.”
Mr. Matson served as manager of environmental safety and regional disaster planning from 2005 to 2010. He later held roles including director of employee relations and retention, executive director of operations and vice president of oncology, orthopedics, facilities and support services, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He stepped into his current role in November 2024, overseeing multiple hospitals, ambulatory locations and physician enterprise assets.
“The mission that first took root here will continue to guide me,” Mr. Matson said. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to carry those lessons forward into a new chapter of service, and I look forward to sharing that next chapter with you next week.”
