Christus hospital president retires; successor named

Kurt DeVaney has been appointed president of Christus Health Mount Pleasant (Texas).

Mr. DeVaney most recently served as COO of Christus Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas, for more than two years, according to a July 7 health system news release shared with Becker’s. He joined Irving, Texas-based Christus Health in 2024.

In his previous role, Mr. DeVaney helped oversee two acute care hospitals, a micro-hospital, two freestanding emergency departments, two surgery centers and 25 outpatient departments.

He succeeds Patty Boeckmann, who is retiring after serving the health system in various roles since 2016.
