Mary Kim, MD, was appointed chief clinical transformation officer of Tacoma, Wash.-based MultiCare Health System.
Dr. Kim joins MultiCare from Gaithersburg, Md.-based Adventist HealthCare, where she held senior leadership roles including interim president and chief medical officer of the physician enterprise and vice president of primary care and population health, according to an Aug. 17 news release.
In her new role, Dr. Kim will work with leaders and teams across MultiCare to improve care coordination and advance MultiCare’s long-term value-based care strategy, the release said. She will also help evaluate and recommend care models intended to improve outcomes, support more connected care and lower the total cost of care.
Earlier in her career, Dr. Kim held leadership roles at Loma Linda (Calif.) University Health, including medical director of spinal cord injury rehabilitation, medical director of stroke rehabilitation and residency program director of physical medicine and rehabilitation. She also practiced at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center.
MultiCare is a 13-hospital system with more than 28,000 employees.
