DeAnn Thurmer, president of SSM Health St. Clare Hospital-Baraboo, SSM Health Ripon Community Hospital and SSM Health Waupun Memorial Hospital — all in Wisconsin — will retire July 1 after more than 40 years with St. Louis-based SSM Health, according to health system news releases shared with Becker’s.
Ms. Thurmer began her career in 1985 at Waupun Memorial Hospital and has served in executive leadership roles since 1995, according to one of the releases. A registered nurse, she also received the DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award for contributions to nursing and clinical excellence.
SSM Health named Mary LaHam, MSN, RN, administrator of SSM Health St. Clare Hospital-Baraboo following Ms. Thurmer’s retirement. Ms. LaHam has served as vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital-Madison since 2020 and has worked within SSM Health for more than three decades, according to the health system.
Nicole Gill was also appointed administrator of SSM Health Ripon Community Hospital and SSM Health Waupun Memorial Hospital. Ms. Gill joined the system in 2005 and has served in leadership roles across the hospitals, including nursing director and operational leadership positions, according to SSM Health. She has served in her current role since 2024.
