Jennifer Nickoles was appointed president and CEO of Baltimore-based LifeBridge Health, effective March 1.
Ms. Nickoles currently serves as president of Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, also in Baltimore. She is the hospital’s first female president and has held various operations and leadership roles across Johns Hopkins Medicine for nearly 30 years, according to a Dec. 17 news release. Her previous roles include vice president of operations, system integrations and affiliations in the office of the president for the Johns Hopkins Health System.
She will succeed Neil Meltzer, who will retire in June after 13 years in the CEO role. The two will work together through an interim period to ensure a smooth transition, according to the release.
Ms. Nickoles will become the first female CEO and third overall CEO in LifeBridge Health’s 27-year history. The five-hospital system has more than 14,000 employees.
