T.J. Adams, BSN, has been appointed president of North Mississippi Medical Center-Tupelo, effective Aug. 24.
Mr. Adams’ new position expands his current role as administrator of the hospital, according to an Aug. 27 LinkedIn post from Tupelo-based North Mississippi Health Services.
He will oversee Tupelo-based services and programs, hospital-based clinics and services, medical staff relations, board accountability and organizational performance.
Mr. Adams joined North Mississippi Medical Center in May 2004 as an operating room nurse. He served as director of supply chain support from 2010 to 2014 and was promoted to vice president of cardiovascular and surgical services in 2014. He was named administrator of North Mississippi Medical Center-Tupelo in October 2021.
He succeeds David Wilson, who will retire as president on Sept. 30. Mr. Wilson also serves as North Mississippi Health Services’ COO. Shawn Morrow was recently named to succeed him in that role.
