Jonathan Lind has been appointed president of Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth (Mass.), effective May 4.
He will succeed Kevin Coughlin, who will retire in May, according to an internal announcement from Dean Carucci, divisional president of community for Cambridge, Mass.-based Beth Israel Lahey Health, which was shared with Becker’s March 30.
Mr. Lind most recently served as president of Swedish Hospital in Chicago, part of Evanston, Ill.-based Endeavor Health, where he led ambulatory growth and strengthened clinical and financial performance. Under his leadership, Swedish Hospital achieved the highest employee engagement scores across Endeavor Health’s nine hospitals.
He also served as system executive for radiology while serving as hospital president.
At Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth, Mr. Coughlin oversaw initiatives to improve access to care, strengthen the workforce and advance philanthropic partnerships. Mr. Carucci expressed gratitude for his leadership of the hospital’s emergency department expansion and modernization project, which is expected to be completed in 2028.
