The University of Virginia board of visitors on Dec. 8 voted to extend the contract of K. Craig Kent, MD, as executive vice president for health affairs and CEO for UVA Health through Jan. 31, 2030.

Ernie Vargo II, president and CEO of Indianapolis-based Eskenazi Health Foundation, plans to retire Jan. 15, 2026 and the organization has already named his successor.

Hollywood, Fla.-based Memorial Healthcare System has moved several leaders into new roles within the organization.

Norvell "Van" Coots, MD, is retiring as president and CEO of Silver Springs, Md.-based Holy Cross Health.

HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital has named John Gerhold its next CEO. 

Brentwood, Tenn.-based Lifepoint Health, which comprises 60 community hospitals and more than 60 rehabilitation and behavioral health hospitals, has promoted three leaders to senior vice president.
