Hospital and health system CEO exits have continued to slow since January. The following 13 were recorded by Becker's in March: 

Ronald Place, MD, was named regional president and CEO of Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center in Sioux Falls, S.D., the flagship facility of Avera Health System.

Kinston-based University of North Carolina Health Lenoir has named Crystal Hayden, DNP, RN, its next president and CEO, effective May 28. 

Ephraim McDowell Health chose Tonya Goodin, MSN, RN to lead two of the Danville, Ky.-based system's hospitals as chief nursing officer, according to a news release. 

Cleveland Clinic London, which opened in March 2022, has appointed Robert Lorenz, MD, as president. He will assume the role June 1. 

Phoenix-based Banner Health's interim CFO, Anthony Frank, has left the system to pursue a new role in New York, Banner said in a March 29 filing.

HCA Healthcare's LewisGale Medical Center has tapped Robert Alphin, MD, as chief medical officer, the Salem, Va.-based hospital said March 29.

Mark Klosterman, President and CEO of Sidney, Ohio-based Wilson Health, announced the appointment of two C-suite leaders in a March 28 news release. 

Gregg Olson will retire as CEO of Rochelle (Ill.) Community Hospital on March 31, the Rochelle News-Leader reported March 28. 

Thomasville (Ala.) Regional Medical Center has named Quentin Whitwell its next CEO, CBS affiliate WKRG reported March 28. By the end of his tenure, he could be its owner. 

McPherson (Kan.) Center for Health named Tanner Wealand as its new CFO.

Lori Rakes, RN, was named CEO of Piedmont Cartersville (Ga.) Medical Center, part of Atlanta-based Piedmont.

Stanford Medicine Children's Health in Palo Alto, Calif., has named Cormac Maher, MD, as its new chief of pediatric neurosurgery.

Jon Sendach was named deputy regional executive director for New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health's central region, according to a March 28 news release shared with Becker's.

New Orleans-based Ochsner Health has tapped Claire Chitwood to oversee two hospitals as divisional chief operating officer. 

Oklahoma City-based OU Health has appointed Stefanie Beavers, DNP, RN, as its inaugural chief nurse executive, the health system said March 28.

Children's Hospital Los Angeles has appointed Lara Khouri executive vice president and COO.

Kevin Speer has been tapped to lead Indianapolis-based Ascension St. Vincent.

A number of hospital and health system executives have recently stepped down or announced they would be stepping down from their positions. 

West Des Moines, Iowa-based MercyOne has named Keith Vollstedt, MD, chief medical officer of its Western Iowa division.
