PeaceHealth Oregon names chief exec

Vancouver, Wash.-based PeaceHealth has tapped Jim McGovern, MD, to serve as chief hospital executive of its Oregon network.

Dr. McGovern has been serving as interim chief executive for the past eight months in addition to his existing role as the network's chief medical officer. He will continue in a dual role as interim CMO as the health system searches for a replacement, according to a Feb. 14 news release.

Dr. McGovern joined PeaceHealth from Neenah, Wis.-based ThedaCare in 2019. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he served as the system's incident commander.

In his new role, Dr. McGovern will oversee operations at the Oregon network's hospitals, including Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield, PeaceHealth Cottage Grove Community Medical Center and PeaceHealth Peace Harbor Medical Center in Florence.
