Boston Medical Center names digital chief

Boston Medical Center Health System has a new digital chief.

Joy Brown was named senior vice president and chief digital information officer for the health system Feb 14. In the newly created role, she will lead digital, technology, cybersecurity and information strategy. She was most recently chief data officer at Verizon Media and has served in tech leadership roles at Optum, GE, Capital One and Vanguard.

Ms. Brown will work to “evolve the health system’s digital capabilities to improve healthcare access, efficiency and outcomes,” Boston Medical Center said in a Feb. 14 statement.

The position replaces and expands upon the former CIO role, a spokesperson told Becker’s.
