The following hospital and health system COO moves have been reported by Becker's since June 6.

King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services has appointed Maria Zangardi as senior vice president, human resources and corporate officer, effective immediately. Ms. Zangardi will succeed Gerry Geckle, who is retiring.

Cincinnati, Ohio-based Bon Secours Mercy Health has tapped Victor Sprague as CFO of the Cincinnati-based Jewish Hospital and Mercy Kings Mills Hospital in Mason, Ohio, according to a July 16 LinkedIn post. 

Hunter Nostrant was named president of MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena. He will begin Sept. 1.

Tampa, Fla.-based HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital has named Ned Hill as CEO, according to a July 15 news release from HCA Healthcare.

Tory Shepherd was named market COO of Danville, Va.-based Sovah Health. She assumed the role July 1.

Chuck Mantooth, president and CEO of Boone, N.C.-based UNC Health Appalachian, will retire Jan. 1.

Heather Havericak was named CEO of Delray Medical Center in Delray Beach, Fla., according to a hospital news release shared with Becker's. 

Jennifer Savage, who had been serving as interim CEO of Warm Springs-based Montana State Hospital since January, is no longer a state employee, a spokesperson for the Department of Public Health and Human Services, confirmed to Becker's.

Escondido, Calif.-based Palomar Health has appointed Russ Riehl interim president of its medical group.

Good Samaritan Hospital has appointed Brenda Winkler, MSN, RN, to the role of chief nursing officer. Ms. Winkler has worked with the Vincennes, Ind.-based hospital for 37 years. 

Atlanta-based Emory Healthcare has named Jamie Watson chief revenue cycle officer, according to a July 14 post on his LinkedIn page. 

Hershey, Pa.-based Penn State Health has restructured its finance department leadership team, effective immediately, after sharing that Ed Chabalowski, vice president of finance and CFO of Penn State Health's Berks and Lancaster counties region, is retiring Oct. 4.

Stacey Malakoff will retire as executive vice president and chief financial and administrative officer of Hospital for Special Surgery at the end of 2025 following a phased 18-month transition. 

Richmond, Va.-based VCU Health has named Alok Chaudhary as its new vice president, chief data and artificial intelligence officer.
