Richmond-based Virginia Commonwealth University is preparing to unseat Arthur Kellermann, MD, as health sciences senior vice president for the university and CEO of VCU Health System, the Richmond Times-Dispatch reported Oct. 31, citing three sources.

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi has named Elizabeth Govero, DNP, MSN, as chief nursing officer, the hospital said in an Oct. 27 news release sent to Becker's. 

Tampa, Fla.-based BayCare has named Nate Malcolm, PharmD, president of its Lutz, Fla.-based St. Joseph's hospital. 

DuBois, Pa.-based Penn Highlands Healthcare has selected Trina Abla, DO, to serve as its next chief medical officer. She succeeds Russell Cameron, MD, who is rolling back his responsibilities within the system as he transitions into retirement.

Methodist Mansfield (Texas) Medical Center has named Crystal Brown its vice president of operations.

Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, Ky., has named Robert Ramey its next president, effective Jan. 1. 

Randy Oostra is retiring as CEO of Toledo, Ohio-based ProMedica.

Mike Howard was appointed CEO of Southern Tennessee Regional Health System-Lawrenceburg.

Brenna Farmer, MD, was appointed chief of the department of emergency medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in New York City.

Greenbrae, Calif.-based MarinHealth has named Eugene Lewis its chief human resources officer in a permanent capacity. Mr. Lewis had served on an interim basis since August. 

Sonoma (Calif.) Valley Hospital has appointed Sujathal Sankaran, MD, as its new chief medical officer. She succeeds Sabrina Kidd, MD, who had held the role since 2018 and left earlier this year. 

Avera Creighton (Neb.) Hospital has named Theresa Guenther its interim CEO. 

Atlanta-based Emory University has tapped Ravi Thadhani, MD, for executive vice president of health affairs, executive director of its health sciences center and vice chair of Emory Healthcare's board of directors.

Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital, a 25-bed nonprofit hospital in Hollister, Calif., has fired Steven Hannah as CEO after about two years on the job, BenitoLink reported Oct. 26.

Bozeman (Mont.) Health President and CEO John Hill is leaving his position at the end of October, according to an Oct. 26 news release.

A. Eugene Washington, MD, president and CEO of Duke University Health System and chancellor for health affairs at Duke University, will step down from the roles in 2023.

Spirit Lake, Iowa-based Lakes Regional Healthcare named Bryan Williams, MSN, RN, as vice president and chief nursing officer, effective Sept. 26, 2022.
