Pipeline Health has signed a letter of intent to sell its two Illinois hospitals to a Michigan-based company for $92 million, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. 

The prospective buyer of two shuttered Pennsylvania hospitals has filed a motion to end litigation to purchase the facilities, The Daily Local reported March 8.

Following rumors that Grand Forks, N.D.-based Altru Health System may be acquired after the sudden departure of President Steven Weiser, MD, the system's new CEO told the Grand Forks Herald in a March 5 article that Altru is not for sale.

Morristown, N.J.-based Atlantic Health System has purchased Immediate Care's seven urgent care locations from CentraState Healthcare System, Atlantic Health said March 3.

The CEO of Care New England said the health system is resilient after the Federal Trade Commission and state attorney general's rejection of its proposed merger with Lifespan, both based in Providence, R.I., The Boston Globe reported March 1.

Dallas, Texas-based Signify Health, a value-based healthcare platform, has completed its acquisition of Kansas City, Mo.-based Caravan Health, a company that works with accountable care organizations in population health management and value-based payment programs. 

New York City-based NYU Langone Health and East Patchogue, N.Y.-based Long Island Community Hospital have made their affiliation official after receiving state and federal approvals.

Columbus, Ohio-based Nationwide Children's Hospital has taken over ownership of Toledo, Ohio-based Mercy Health-Children's Hospital, which will be named Nationwide Children's Hospital-Toledo.

San Antonio, Texas-based University Health has entered a joint venture with post-acute healthcare company PAM Health in an effort to expand access for University Health patients who need inpatient rehabilitation services after being discharged.

University Health Care System, a three-hospital system in Augusta, Ga., officially joined Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare on March 1. Piedmont now comprises 19 hospitals. 

Peoria, Ill.-based OSF HealthCare has signed an exclusive letter of intent to purchase the real estate, medical equipment and other assets of the closed Galesburg (Ill.) Cottage Hospital.

Providence, R.I.-based Care New England said it's too early to make plans for future merger deals after the system and Lifespan withdrew their application to merge, The Providence Journal reported Feb. 24.

Texas turnaround firm Canyon Atlantic Partners failed to post a $1 million bond required by a Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas judge to purchase two closed hospitals from West Reading, Pa.-based Tower Health, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Feb. 25.

The boards of Lifespan and Care New England — both based in Providence, R.I. — have decided to withdraw their merger application after the Federal Trade Commission made an announcement Feb. 17 to file suit to block the deal.

Pajaro Valley Healthcare District Project was approved by a bankruptcy judge to purchase Watsonville Community (Calif.) Hospital, KSBW reported Feb. 23.

StoneBridge Healthcare, a financial turnaround company, submitted a bid to purchase Providence, R.I.-based Care New England Health System. 

UnitedHealth Group plans to close its acquisition of Change Healthcare on Feb. 27, meaning the Justice Department now has less than one week to intervene to block the deal, according to a Feb. 17 Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

Pajaro Valley Healthcare District Project has won its bid to buy Watsonville (Calif.) Community Hospital after no other qualified bids were submitted by the deadline, The Pajaronian reported Feb. 21.
