HCA hospitals make 12 executive changes

HCA Healthcare, a for-profit hospital operator based in Nashville, Tenn., made leadership changes at several of its hospitals in recent weeks.

Here are 12 moves at HCA hospitals reported by Becker's since May 9:

1. Ben Coogan was named CEO of Medical City Plano (Texas).

2. Tim Layman, DNP, MSN, RN, was named chief nursing officer of LewisGale Montgomery Hospital in Blacksburg, Va.

3. Marcus Jackson was named COO of Medical City Las Colinas in Irving, Texas.

4. Danny Fischesser was named CFO of HCA Florida University Hospital in Davie.

5. Ben Warner, BSN, RN, was named chief nursing officer of HCA Florida Mercy Hospital in Miami.

6. Sanjiv Tewari, MD, was named chief medical officer of HCA Florida Blake Hospital in Bradenton.

7. Brandon Haushalter resigned as CEO of HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in Miami for another opportunity outside of HCA Healthcare. Ben Harris was selected as the new CEO.

8. Sean Benoit, MD, was named chief medical officer of HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in Miami. Dr. Benoit will step into the role in late June. He is replacing Kendall Hospital's former CMO, Michael Reitz, DO, who was promoted in April to CMO of HCA Healthcare's continental division based in Denver.

9. Joe Britner, COO of HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital in Tamarac, was promoted to COO of HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in Miami. He will step into the role June 26.

10. Reed Hammond was named CEO of HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville.

11. Ken West was named CEO of HCA Florida JFK Hospital in Atlantis.

12. Steve Nierman left his role as CEO of HCA Florida Blake Hospital in Bradenton. Paige Laughlin, the hospital's COO, was named interim CEO.
