Health systems are strengthening their technology leadership benches, appointing new executives to lead areas like cybersecurity, innovation, digital platforms and enterprise systems.

- CT Lin, MD, chief medical information officer of UCHealth, retired June 30.
- J. Scott Smitherman, MD, was promoted to vice president and chief medical information officer of Renton, Wash.-based Providence.
- Vivek K. Reddy, MD, will step into the role of chief health informatics officer on July 1 of Salt Lake City-based University of Utah Health.
- Srini Uppugonduri was promoted to the role of senior vice president and chief information security officer at Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health.
- Jeanne Markland was promoted to the role of CIO of Los Angeles-based UCLA Health.
- Yuan Luo, PhD, was appointed chief data officer of Seattle-based UW Medicine.
- Wes Barnes was named interim chief digital and information officer of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
- Wasif Jamal was named vice president and CIO of WellSpan Health in York, Pa.
- Keith Rivera was appointed CIO of Omaha-based Nebraska Medicine.
- Jordan Ruch was promoted to executive vice president and chief information and digital officer at Atlantic City, N.J.-based AtlantiCare.
- Jose Mathew was named vice president of technology and innovation at Children’s Nebraska, effective July 6.
- Dave Lehr was promoted from chief strategy officer to chief administrative officer and chief innovation officer at Hagerstown, Md.-based Meritus Health.
- Joseph Scuorzo, DO, was named chief medical information officer of Terre Haute, Ind.-based Union Health.
- Jeff O’Brien was named vice president and regional CIO of Valhalla, N.Y.-based Westchester Medical Center Health Network.
- Jake Marshak was appointed chief technology officer of South Bend, Ind.-based Beacon Health System.
- Mangoné Fall was named chief information security officer of Sayre, Pa.-based The Guthrie Clinic.
- Vikesh Tahiliani, MD, vice president of care transformation and innovation at HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.), stated that he would be stepping down from his role.
- Jayson Laban was named vice president and chief information officer of Galveston, Texas-based University of Texas Medical Branch.
- William Scandrett was named vice president of information security and chief information security officer of Dallas-based Baylor Scott & White Health.
- Andrea Daugherty was named the inaugural chief information and digital transformation officer of Colton, Calif.-based Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
