J. Scott Smitherman, MD, has been promoted to vice president and chief medical information officer of Renton, Wash.-based Providence.
J. Scott Smitherman, MD, made the announcement via LinkedIn on June 29.
“Today, I officially begin as VP, Chief Medical Information Officer for Providence,” he wrote. “This has been my dream job since I found out CMIOs existed.”
Prior to this, Dr. Smitherman served as interim chief medical information officer at Providence.
