Salt Lake City-based University of Utah Health has appointed Vivek K. Reddy, MD, as its chief health informatics officer, effective July 1.
Dr. Reddy has served as interim chief health informatics officer since May 2024 and will now permanently lead the health system’s clinical informatics strategy, according to a June 26 University of Utah Health news release.
In the role, Dr. Reddy will provide clinical leadership for the organization’s use of Health IT, working with clinical, operational, quality and digital leaders to optimize clinical workflows, improve documentation and support the responsible integration of emerging technologies, including AI, into clinical practice.
Dr. Reddy joined University of Utah Health in 2019. Before joining University of Utah Health, he served as chief health information officer at Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health.
