Deepti Pandita, MD, has been named chief medical informatics and AI officer of Orange, Calif.-based UCI Health.

Dr. Pandita previously served as vice president of clinical informatics and chief medical information officer after joining the health system in 2023.

“This role is not about adding ‘AI’ to a title — it’s about acknowledging that informatics and AI are now inseparable,” she wrote April 17 on LinkedIn. “While this title is still uncommon across U.S. health systems, it represents where our field is heading: toward integrated leadership that brings together clinical expertise, informatics, and AI strategy under one vision.”

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
