Fort Worth, Texas-based Cook Children’s Health Care System has named Pat Furr as its new chief technology officer.

Mr. Furr joins Cook Children’s from Houston-based Texas Children’s Hospital, where he spent nearly seven years, most recently as vice president of technology operations and infrastructure since October 2025. He previously served as assistant vice president of infrastructure and healthcare technologies and as director of IT infrastructure at the system.

Before moving into healthcare, Mr. Furr held technology leadership roles at Houston-area energy companies, including senior director of IT infrastructure and operations at NRG Energy and director of business continuity and disaster recovery at GenOn Energy.

Teresa Tonthat, chief digital and information officer at Cook Children’s, said in an Aug. 24 LinkedIn post that Mr. Furr will help the system “create seamless, connected experiences” for caregivers and the children and families it serves.
