Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Health has made 17 leadership appointments under its new operating model.
The moves include promotions and newly hired leaders, according to a Feb. 17 health system news release.
Among the executives joining Sentara is Russ Coville III, who was named vice president and chief data officer.
Clinical leaders
- Michael Hooper, MD, senior vice president and chief medical and academic officer, was named executive vice president and chief clinical officer.
- Joseph Gressens, MD, was promoted from clinical chief of pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine to vice president and chief medical officer of medical specialties.
- Robin Anderson, MD, was promoted from executive director of medical operations to vice president and chief medical officer of primary care.
- Gregory Kim, MD, was promoted from clinical chief of general surgery at Sentara Medical Group to vice president and chief medical officer of surgical specialties.
- Robert Linton II, MD, joined Sentara as chief medical officer at Sentara Leigh Hospital.
- Jason Wilson, MD, oncology service line medical director, was appointed clinical chief of Sentara Surgical Specialists.
- Garrett Blair, senior director of clinical process improvement, was named vice president of quality improvement and quality programs.
- Erick Vitug was promoted from senior director of neuroscience and orthopedic service lines to vice president of neuroscience and orthopedic service lines.
Finance, business and operations
- Rachel Carr was promoted from director of finance to ambulatory CFO.
- Jessica Lowder, vice president of operations at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Va., was named vice president and chief of staff to President and CEO Dennis Matheis.
- Rebecca McMahan was promoted from executive director of business operations for primary care and medical specialties in Hampton Roads, Va., to vice president of business operations for primary care and medical specialties in Hampton Roads.
- Bailey Myers, senior director of operations at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Va., was named vice president of operations at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach.
- Jennifer Smiley-Gill was promoted from executive director of business operations, hospital-based specialties Northwest Region to vice president of business operations, hospital-based specialties Northwest Region.
- Jeff Wills, director of security at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, was named director of enterprise security.
Human resources
- Ryan Humphris joined Sentara as vice president of HR technologies and solutions.
- Patricia “Tricia” Tull joined Sentara as vice president of compensation.
