Mayo Regional Hospital, Dartmouth-Hitchcock's tele-emergency program is now live

Dover-Foxcroft, Maine-based Mayo Regional Hospital and Lebanon, N.H.-based Dartmouth-Hitchcock completed the go-live for its tele-emergency program Oct. 29, according to The Piscataquis Observer.

The tele-emergency service is offered 24 hours a day, seven days a week at Mayo Regional's emergency department. Via the service, Mayo Regional's ED team can connect with Dartmouth-Hitchcock emergency medicine-focused physicians and nurses for additional expertise and support. The tele-emergency program leverages interactive audiovisual technology.

Mayo Regional's emergency department cares for 11,000-plus patients annually, according to the report.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock currently provides emergency medicine support via telemedicine to seven hospitals in New England in addition to Mayo Regional.
