Citizens Medical Center names Mike Olson CEO: 4 things to know

Citizens Medical Center in Victoria, Texas, has named Mike Olson CEO, effective Nov. 12, according to a Victoria Advocate report.

Here are four things to know about Mr. Olson.

1. He signed a three-year contract Tuesday with an annual salary of $495,000, said Donald Day, the hospital's board chairman, according to the report.

2. He will join CMC from American Fork (Utah) Hospital, where he has served as administrator.

3. As CEO, Mr. Olson has promised to emphasize patient care, according to the report. "Our ultimate goal is to make sure our patients get the absolute best care possible," he said, according to the report. "This is a community hospital, and it's owned by the citizens ... We need to make sure we earn their support."

4. Mr. Olson will take over for Jeff Ackerman, who has served as interim CEO since April.
