American Fork Hospital administrator resigns: 4 things to know

Mike Olson, administrator of American Fork (Utah) Hospital, part of Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare, is leaving his position, according to a Daily Herald report.

Here are four things to know about Mr. Olson.

1. He has been administrator for 11 years.

2. During his time at American Fork Hospital, he focused “on building strong physician relations to maintain an engaged medical staff,” and “played a critical role in helping the hospital keep pace with the growing community, with important services such as cancer services, a Level II nursery, endoscopy and the new emergency and surgical services expansion,” said Steve Smoot, Intermountain vice president for Utah County, according to the report.

3. Mr. Olson has not announced his plans moving forward.

4. Until a new administrator is chosen, others will fill in and share Mr. Olson’s responsibilities.
