San Angelo, Texas-based Shannon Medical Center has joined the Mayo Clinic Care Network, a global group of independent care systems that can tap into the knowledge and medical expertise of Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic.

Juneau, Alaska-based Bartlett Regional Hospital will assume operations of Juneau-based Wildflower Court, a nursing and rehabilitation facility.  

At a Dec. 8 public hearing, New Orleans-based LCMC Health officials made their case to the office of the Louisiana Attorney General for the system's planned acquisition of three Tulane University hospitals in Baton Rouge, La., nola.com reported Dec. 8. 

The University of Michigan Health's board of regents on Dec. 8 approved a proposed agreement that would see it acquire Lansing, Mich.-based Sparrow Health System to become a $7 billion-health system with more than 200 sites of care.

Trenton, N.J.-based Capital Health has received approval to take over services from Trenton-based St. Francis Medical Center.

New Orleans-based Ochsner Health, a 47-hospital system with more than 36,000 employees, has acquired Diamondhead (Miss.) Urgent Care, NBC affiliate WXXV reported Dec. 7.

Executives from Texas A&M University-San Antonio, Bryan-based Texas A&M Health and San Antonio-based University Health have partnered to expand care, medical training and research in South Texas and Bexar County. 

Atrium Health and Advocate Aurora Health closed on their formal combination Dec. 2, resulting in a newly combined $27 billion, 67-hospital system called Advocate Health — the fifth-largest nonprofit health system in the U.S.

Minnesota's attorney general plans to host several public hearings in early 2023 to collect input on the proposed merger of Sanford Health and Fairview Health, the Star Tribune reported Nov. 22. 

Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Sanford Health and Minneapolis-based Fairview Health have approved negotiations for a merger — nearly one decade after their first attempt fell through, the Star Tribune reported Nov. 15. 

The Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board unanimously approved a plan to change ownership for 10 Advocate Aurora facilities in the state covered by the system's plan to merge with Charlotte, N.C.-based Atrium Health, the Chicago Tribune reported Nov. 14. 

Charleston, W.Va.-based Thomas Health will soon become part of West Virginia University Health System by the end of 2022. 

Toledo, Ohio-based ProMedica plans to transfer the real estate and management of all its skilled nursing facilities with Welltower to the real estate investment company, effective Dec. 19, 2022.

Urbana, Ill.-based Carle Health signed a strategic affiliation agreement with Peoria, Ill.-based  UnityPoint Health - Central Illinois and Des Moines, Iowa-based UnityPoint Health.

Portland-based MaineHealth's specialists, facilities, and hospitals will be in-network with New York-based Taro Health's insurance plans beginning on Nov. 1, according to an Oct. 26 news release shared with Becker's.
