To guide its AI initiatives, AdventHealth established a companywide AI advisory board comprising clinical leaders from various disciplines. According to a May 30 news release, this board facilitates informed discussions, helps leaders navigate complexities and supports responsible AI use.
AdventHealth’s ultimate goal is to leverage AI to assist physicians, ensure patient safety and privacy, and enhance personalized care.
One area where the 53-hospital system is exploring AI’s use is in EHR documentation. AdventHealth introduced an AI-based automated clinical documentation tool in its ambulatory practices, which drafts clinical notes during patient exams for providers to review and complete afterward.
With this tool, AdventHealth aims to reduce administrative burdens for physicians, allowing them to focus on delivering patient care.
