University of Michigan Health Strikes New Deal With Nursing Union

The University of Michigan Health System, based in Ann Arbor, has struck a new three-year contract with members of the U-M Professional Nurse Council/Michigan Nurses Association.

The new agreement features a new competitive wage program and a number of changes to employee benefits, including retirement eligibility, overtime pay and health insurance premiums. Agreements were also reached on numerous other issues.

The contract covers more than 4,000 University of Michigan nurses, including staff nurses, clinical nurse specialists, nurse practitioners and nurse anesthetists.
