Vermont offers $10K to relocate to the state, work remotely

Vermont Republican Gov. Phil Scott signed a bill May 30 that will pay people $10,000 over two years to move to Vermont and work remotely for an out-of-state employer, according to Quartz.

Vermont's working population is aging quickly, and legislators have been looking for ways to address this crisis. There will be 100 grants available over the first three years of the program, beginning Jan. 1, 2019, with funding for 20 additional grants every year after.

The state also launched an initiative called "Stay to Stay Weekends" which hopes to entice tourists to move to Vermont by offering networking events with employers, entrepreneurs and real estate agents during four select weekends.
