Rep. Joseph Kennedy III, D-Mass., has been awarded the 2017 Southcoast Health Hero for Health Award, according to CapeCod.com.
New Bedford, Mass.-based Southcoast Health System presents the awards to leaders who advocate for healthcare causes locally, statewide and nationally. Since his election in 2013, Mr. Kennedy has sponsored or co-sponsored 157 bills to improve healthcare access.
"Congressman Kennedy represents the true meaning of the Southcoast Health Hero for Health Award," said Keith Hovan, president and CEO of Southcoast Health, according to CapeCod.com.
