Q: What are your top priorities for 2022?

Eric Tritch: We are taking on major system transformations in 2022 so that is a key focus, we are moving our organization to the Oracle Cloud ERP platform, and we are also brining our community hospital location to EPIC to align with the health system. This will lay a key foundation for our further evolution as a health system, to grow and provide the most value for our patients.

Q: How do you plan to pivot strategies this year to better serve patients?

ET: We are still dealing with an incredible amount of disruption in the supply chain, and our team remains focused on evolving our approaching to strategic sourcing and inventory management to be able to insulate our caregivers and patients as much as possible. However, we are starting to revisit innovation techniques in approaches to inventory management to make replenishment and communicating changes easier and less reliant on manual processes.

Q: What will the lasting legacy of COVID-19 be on the healthcare system?

ET: The challenges of Covid proved we are a resilient industry and that supply chain investment is critical. Fortunately UCM has been ahead of the curve in investing supply chain people and technologies which has served us well over the last 2 years, and has allowed us to bounce back after Covid surges more quickly which has had a huge positive impact on our operations and most importantly our patients.

Q: What advice do you have for emerging healthcare leaders today?

ET: With all the remote work in certain roles, make sure to find ways to connect with the on-site operations. Spend time in the clinical areas, round and connect with the front line caregivers and support teams.
