Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health appointed Jerome Williams Jr., MD, senior vice president of consumer engagement.
Dr. Williams, a practicing interventional cardiologist, most recently served as a physician leader for Novant Health's value-based care business unit. He has worked at the health system for 22 years.
Dr. Williams is a founding member of the Carolinas Association for Community Health Equity and has served on several local boards and committees, including for the American Heart Association-Charlotte and Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture.
In his new role, Dr. Williams will oversee Novant Health's social responsibility programs, community engagement partnerships and community impact and wellness programs.
In addition to his medical training, Dr. Williams has an MBA from the Wake Forest University School of Business in Winston-Salem, N.C.
