All New York State Salaries Now Listed Online

The 2010 salaries of over 200,000 New York state employees are now available online in a push for government transparency, according to an Evening Tribune report.

The salary lists do not include pension costs, health insurance for employed and retired state workers and any other benefits. According to the report, over 115 SUNY employees made more than $285,063. Stephen Onesti, MD, pulled in $974,605 in 2010 in his role as professor and chair of the neurosurgery department at SUNY Downstate Medical Center hospital. He was the third-highest paid state employee on the list.

The SeeThroughNY website allows users to browse salaries and pensions for municipalities across the state. The government is divided into three branches for the list's purposes: executive, judicial and legislative. The executive salary list includes SUNY and CUNY employees.
