AnMed Health implements patient education technology, sees rise in HCAHPS scores

One year after implementing SmarTigr patient education technology from TeleHealth Services, AnMed Health — a multidisciplinary five-hospital system headquartered in Anderson, S.C. — improved HCAHPS patient satisfaction scores and patient health literacy.

Since the application of the new patient engagement platform, AnMed Medical Center realized an average 2.44 percent increase in patient satisfaction on HCAHPS scores. AnMed Health Woman's and Children's Hospital increased overall patient satisfaction scores by 1.35 percent. AnMed Health also earned an annual increase of two value-based purchasing points (from two to four points) in the measuring system.

The company's SmarTigr patient education technology increased the annual number of educational videos viewed by AnMed patients by 200 percent.
