Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare will cut 464 positions — approximately 5 percent of its workforce — as part of a plan to save an estimated $68 million, according to an Atlanta Journal-Constitution report.
One-hundred seventy-one of the 464 jobs were vacant or altered due to scheduling changes. Piedmont's four hospitals as well as its physicians group, heart institute and corporate division will face staff downsizing. Food court hours, room service delivery schedules and availability of coffee in certain departments could be affected.
Piedmont began notifying employees of the job cuts last month, according to the report.
