9 most unhealthy hospital jobs

Some healthcare jobs are among the 27 jobs ranked most damaging to personal health by Business Insider.

The publication came up with the ranking susing data from the Occupational Information Network, a U.S. Department of Labor database with detailed information on occupations.

Here are nine healthcare jobs that made the list, ranked from the least unhealthy to most unhealthy.

1. Radiologists (tied for No. 24). Their top three health risks are exposure to radiation, exposure to disease and infections, and time spent sitting.

2. Nuclear medicine technologists (No. 23). Their top three health risks are exposure to radiation, exposure to disease and infections, and exposure to contaminants.

3. Critical care nurses (No. 21). Their top three health risks are exposure to disease and infections, exposure to contaminants and exposure to radiation.

4. Emergency medical technicians and paramedics (tied for No. 17). Their top three health risks are exposure to disease and infections, exposure to contaminants and risk of minor burns, cuts, bites and stings.

5. Medical equipment preparers (tied for No. 12). Their top three health risks are exposure to contaminants, exposure to disease and infections, and exposure to hazardous conditions.

6. Surgical and medical assistants, technologists, and technicians (No. 10). Their top three health risks are exposure to disease and infections, exposure to contaminants and exposure to hazardous conditions.

7. Podiatrists (No. 5). Their top three health risks are exposure to disease and infections, exposure to radiation and exposure to contaminants.

8. Anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists and anesthesiologist assistants (No. 3). Their top three health risks are exposure to disease and infections, exposure to contaminants and exposure to radiation.

9. Dentists, dental surgeons, and dental assistants (No. 1). Their top three health risks are exposure to contaminants, exposure to disease and infections, and time spent sitting.
