Dr. Erling has served as interim leader of the facility since Margaret Sabin’s retirement in March. He has also been serving in his previous role as senior vice president and chief clinical officer for Centennial, Colo.-based Centura Health, Penrose-St. Francis’ parent. He will give up his prior role to take on the CEO position at Penrose-St. Francis permanently.
Previously, Dr. Erling served as president of EmCare Alliance Group, a hospital-based medicine provider group. He was also director of American Medical Response, an ambulance operator.
In addition to his medical degree, Dr. Erling holds an MBA from the University of Colorado at Denver.
