3. He holds an MBA from Elon (N.C.) University and PhD in community health/public health from The University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
4. Dr. Isley is the permanent successor to Larry Chewning. Nash UNC’s board of commissioners removed Larry Chewning from his position as president and CEO in July 2017.
5. The health system has experienced patient safety and financial issues over the last several years. In 2017, the health system was one of three facilities in the state to receive a “D” grade from the Leapfrog Group. Additionally, it closed its pediatric care wing.
