Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital names new president: 5 notes

Memphis, Tenn.-based Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital appointed Michael Wiggins president, effective April 8.

Five notes:

1. Mr. Wiggins most recently worked at Children’s Health in Dallas, where he was senior vice president of clinical operations and the Northern Market as well as administrator of the Children’s Medical Center Plano (Texas).

2. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

3. Mr. Wiggins holds an MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

4. He succeeds Meri Armour, who is retiring.

5. During Ms. Armour’s tenure, the hospital opened a $340 million state-of-the art hospital addition, established a $100 million hospital endowment and achieved the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center’s Magnet designation.
