Blue Ridge Medical Center hires Randy Pirtle as CEO: 4 notes

Blue Ridge Medical Center in Arrington, Va., selected Randy Pirtle as its new CEO, effective Oct. 16, according to a Nelson County Times report.

Here are four notes:

1. Mr. Pirtle most recently served as corporate vice president and COO of Florida Hospital HealthCare Partners, a multispecialty physician group based in Daytona Beach.

2. He has previously served as regional administrative director for a division of Sacramento-based Sutter Health.

3. Mr. Pirtle succeeds Peggy Whitehead, who is retiring.

4. He will transition into the CEO role under Ms. Whitehead’s guidance, beginning in September.
