Adena names CFO: 4 things to know

Chillicothe, Ohio-based Adena Health System named Lisa Carlson CFO, effective June 5.

Here are four things to know about Ms. Carlson.

1. She previously served as a contracted interim CFO with Adena, joining the system last year.

2. Since joining Adena, Ms. Carlson led the system’s positive financial results over the past two quarters, and helped develop a plan to acquire bond financing to support expansion of Adena’s emergency department and to refinance existing debt at a reduced interest rate, according to a news release.

3. She is also making efforts toward revenue cycle management improvement. According to the release, she is working with hospital finance consultants and Adena finance managers on a project “to fix the much talked about ‘billing issues’ that many Adena patients have experienced.”

4. Ms. Carlson’s previous roles include CFO of Sanford Health, an integrated organization based in Sioux Falls, S.D., as well as CFO of a large North Dakota physician group. She also has served as a consultant with Tatum, a Randstad company.
