Cardiology workforce, pay: 20 stats to know

The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimated there are about 16,870 cardiologists employed in the U.S.

In 2022, cardiologists had a mean salary of $421,330. The data, last updated April 25, also found that New York had the most cardiologists employed, but Arizona paid the highest.

  5. Specialty hospitals: 70 cardiologists

  1. New York: 2,370 cardiologists
  2. California: 2,130 cardiologists
  3. New Jersey: 1,690 cardiologists
  4. Florida: 1,220 cardiologists
  5. Texas: 690 cardiologists
