NAPA Releases White Paper on Improving OR Efficiencies Through Perioperative Leadership

North American Partners in Anesthesia has released a white paper on how to improve operating room efficiencies through a strong perioperative infrastructure, according to a news release.

The paper, "Effective Perioperative Leadership: The Driving Force in Creating a High Performing OR," describes six steps to improving OR performance:

1. Conduct a three-part situation assessment.
2. Analyze and benchmark.
3. Set goals in sync with hospital needs.
4. Develop an action plan.
5. Implement your action plan.
6. Monitor progress and reassess.

The white paper also includes a case study of 464-bed Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York City, which saw hospital-wide benefits from following these steps.
