IU School of Medicine selects 1st-ever CIO: 4 things to know

Indianapolis-based Indiana University School of Medicine named Rob Lowden its inaugural executive associate dean and CIO, effective Jan. 1, 2019.

Here are four things to know:

1. Mr. Lowden currently serves as Indiana University’s associate vice president of enterprise software.

2. He has worked at IU since 1998, serving in several IT-related roles. He assumed his current role in 2011.

3. He holds a master of science degree in technology from Purdue University in Lafayette, Ind.

4. In his new role, Mr. Lowden will oversee IT strategy for the medical school as well as IT alignment with Indiana University Health and the Regenstrief Institute, both in Indianapolis.
