Florida Hospital Flagler breaks ground on $4.5M cancer center

Florida Hospital Flagler in Palm Coast broke ground on July 11 on a $4.5 million construction project that will expand its cancer center by 2,000 square feet, according to the Palm Coast Observer.

The expanded cancer facility will also add a second linear accelerator for radiation oncology treatments.

"When complete, we will have two vaults for radiation treatments, expanding our ability to treat cancer patients in a quick, extremely safe and efficient manner," said Kristie Reiner, Florida Hospital Flagler director of oncology operations, according to the report.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2016.
