Children's Hospital of Michigan completes $155M patient tower

After nearly three years of construction, Detroit-based Children's Hospital of Michigan has completed its $155 million patient tower.

The six-story, 248,800-square-foot facility houses an emergency department with 48 rooms and four trauma bays as well as expanded neonatal, pediatric and cardiac intensive care units. The project also includes an updated surgical unit with renovated operating rooms.

"For 132 years Children’s Hospital of Michigan has been dedicated to caring for children. Now, we have a brand new healing environment to support kids and their families with the best pediatric services when they need us the most," said Luanne Thomas Ewald, CEO of Children's Hospital of Michigan.

The hospital is part of the Detroit Medical Center.
