Chicago's Provident Hospital to build $242M replacement facility

Chicago-based Provident Hospital is planning to build a $242 million replacement facility steps away from its current location, according to the Chicago Sun Times.  

The proposed facility will house 42 medical and surgical beds, a six-bed intensive care unit, eight operating rooms, two procedure rooms, an 18-bay emergency department and 70 outpatient exam rooms.

The outpatient exam rooms would be used for primary, specialty and behavioral care. 

Pending approval from the  Illinois Health Facilities Service Review Board, the hospital is slated to open in late 2022.

Provident Hospital is part of the Cook County Health System.
