Here are five cancer centers in the works or recently opened that Becker's has covered since Oct. 17:
- Escanaba, Mich.-based OSF St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group is building a new cancer center where its old kidney dialysis center was located.
- Morgantown-based West Virginia University Health System and WVU Cancer Institute are partnering with the city of Wheeling and the Ohio County Commission to build a new cancer center in Wheeling, W.Va.
- A gift from Roy Zuckerberg, a longtime trustee of New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health, led to the creation of the R.J. Zuckerberg Cancer Hospital and the R.J. Zuckerberg Cancer Center.
- OhioHealth Marion Cancer Center, a $20 million, 24,000-square-foot facility, was set to open Oct. 24.
- The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Health broke ground on its $150 million cancer and surgery center Oct. 14.
